Obama thanked McCain for his Friday comments.

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (CNN) — During his four stop swing around the city of Philadelphia Saturday morning, Barack Obama acknowledged John McCain’s efforts to “tone down the rhetoric” on the campaign trail.

“I appreciated his reminder that we can disagree while still being respectful of each other. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again — Senator McCain has served this country with honor, and he deserves our thanks for that,” Obama told a north Philadelphia crowd, to a mix of heavy boos and cheers.

At an event Friday in Minnesota McCain referred to Obama as a “decent person,” and praised him as a “family man” after two voters expressed fear over Obama being elected.

Obama, however, quickly dispensed with polite talk Saturday, and pivoted to his main campaign trail argument: that McCain is out of touch on the economy.

“Senator McCain’s campaign manager actually said that Senator McCain wasn’t talking about the market because there’s just not much a candidate for President can say — and they aren’t sure what he’d say each day even if he did talk about it,” Obama said.

“But here’s the thing Philadelphia. They can run misleading ads, and pursue the politics of anything goes, they can try to change the subject. They can do that what they want to do because the American people understand what’s going on — but it’s not going to work. Not this time.”

We’ve all heard of the usual commemorative days such as St Patrick’s Day on the 17th March, St Andrew’s day on the 30th November, St David’s day on the 1st March and St George’s day, usually on the 23rd April.

Of course most of us are also aware of Independence Day on the 4th July, Bastille Day on the 14th July and arguably the most famous of all, Christmas day on the 25th December. There are, however, some other obscure and somewhat bizarre days to celebrate.

January 10th just happens to be Peculiar People Day, a good day to recognize those amongst us that are a bit eccentric or out of the ordinary.

February 28th is the day you get to sleep in public, if the inclination takes you, as it just happens to be Public Sleeping Day.

March 9th is Panic Day so if you have something to panic about why not wait until this day and get it all out at once.

April 7th is the day you get to put your feet up as it is No Housework Day.

May 6th is when the kids get to celebrate as it is No Homework Day.

June 1st is Dare Day where you can dare someone to do something extraordinary, not that you can’t do that at other times of course, but today’s the day you have a good excuse for it.

July 5th is Workaholic’s Day in order to recognize those that persist in putting their work before absolutely everything and everyone else.

August 18th
is the day you get to show off your bad poetry, and there’s a lot of it about, because it is in fact, Bad Poetry Day.

September 5th
is especially for those who find punctuality a challenge as it is Be Late for Something Day.

October 29th is Hermit Day, a day to withdraw from the hustle and bustle of society and find out what’s it’s like to become a recluse, just for a day.

November 30th is the day you get to stay at home not because you’re sick but incredibly, because you feel good as it is Stay At Home Because You Are Well Day.

December 4th
is a day to kick off your usual footwear and don a pair of brown shoes to celebrate Brown Shoes Day.

So what does this all mean, are we completely crazy or what? Perhaps we enjoy making bizarre holidays just to remind us that life has not to be taken too seriously all the time, we are all human and as such, it won’t do us any harm whatsoever to lighten up and have a bit of fun from time to time.

Medical Miracles

The word miracle, from the Latin word miraculum, basically means “something wonderful”. Many people attach a divine or mystical significance to the word miracle and yet others might describe it as a seemingly impossible or a statistically unlikely event that has a beneficial outcome. Miracles mean different things to different people but regardless of what you consider a miracle to be, the fact is, they do happen. Some events may have vague scientific explanations, whereas others do not. In all cases, they serve to remind us that we can take nothing for granted and that we should never lose sight of hope.  The following list represents just a short selection of what might fall into the miraculous category, you decide.

x-rayThe case of Brandon Connor ( Dr. We can’t find the tumour )

In the USA, doctors identified a tumour growing on Brandon Connor’s spine whilst he was still in his mother’s womb.  After his birth it was diagnosed as neuroblastoma, a particularly deadly form of childhood cancer.  Over the next couple of years Brandon was monitored and the tumour persisted. When he was two years old, a neurosurgeon agreed to operate. However, the night before surgery, the tumour was found to have vanished leaving only fatty tissue in its place.  Some doctors maintain that the tumour may have committed “cellular suicide” but no one knows for sure.

BrainSaved by the cards   (Coincidence or evidence of something more powerful)

In the UK, no one would have believed that 9 year old Craig Shergold would survive his diagnosis of terminal brain cancer. His family started an ambitious campaign for Craig to receive enough get well cards to earn him a place in the Guinness Book of Records. In came the cards, not in their hundreds or thousands, but in their millions, and Craig easily secured his place in the famous book. However, Craig’s plight also caught the attention of one wealthy American who arranged for Craig to have surgery in the USA. Craig’s cancer then went into remission and he made a full recovery.

BatSurviving rabies  (Only six people worldwide have survived, go by a lotto ticket girl)

Little did young fifteen year old Jeanna Giese know when she picked up a bat in a church and was bitten on the finger, that she would be the first person ever to contract rabies and survive without a vaccine.   A month after she was bitten she developed symptoms of rabies and the diagnosis was confirmed in lab tests. Her condition continued to deteriorate and doctors took drastic action. They put the young girl into a coma for a week and waited for her immune system to fight back. It did and she survived. The same technique has been repeated on other rabies victims since but has always failed.

ChampagneCured of HIV?  (Lets celebrate! Err no , I think I will sue you?)

A young Scotsman by the name of Andrew Stimpson remains the only documented case of someone having been diagnosed as HIV positive and then curing himself. Such was his shock when further tests a year later showed the virus had gone and his immune system had stopped making antibodies, he tried to sue the health authorities, but no negligence was found, their tests proved accurate. DoesAndrew hold the secret to an eventual Aids cure? No one knows.

HeadLightning does strike twice, maybe even seven times ( Zapped and zapped again LOL)

It is rare indeed to be struck by lightning at all, some people are unlucky enough to have been struck twice, but Roy Sullivan, an ex park ranger in Virginia, is the only person known to have been struck
by lightning no less than seven times over the course of 37 years and has lived to tell the tale. He has lost toenails, had his hair set alight twice, his eyebrows burned off, and received numerous burns to his body. Is he lucky or incredibly unlucky?  It’s difficult to say.

Miracle signWas it a miracle? (Incredible vanishing cancers)

Last year in 2006, young Tyler Powell discovered she had Leukaemia. There was more bad news. The type of Leukaemia was particularly serious. Chemotherapy treatment then failed and the only option left appeared to be a bone marrow transplant. An exact match wasn’t found but Tyler’s mother was a close match so they decided to go ahead. However, pre-operation tests revealed that the leukaemia had miraculously gone. Tyler now looks forward to a fulland happy life. Was it a miracle? At the moment there is no other explanation.

Jesus on waterJohn of God   (Simple fraud or does this man hold exceptional powers)

Joao de Deus, otherwise known as John of God, is a humble man in Brazil with very little education who performs hundreds of medical “miracles” on a daily basis. He is now perhaps the world’s most renowned spiritual healer and psychic surgeon and carries out both physical surgery using medical tools
without an anaesthetic, and psychic treatments, all under the instruction of what he calls “entities”. No one feels any pain. He sees everyone who seeks his help; absolutely no one is turned away. What makes John different is that he openly welcomes the media to witness his work in attempt to counteract
the many attempts to portray him as a fraud. Is he a fraud? His countless successes would indicate otherwise.

ME n EBIN - BROS FOR LIFE...

ME n EBIN - BRO'S FOR LIFE...

ME and one of my best pal wnt out in the middle of the night, in Kuwait, wanting to do something to our school Sports Sir’s car. The sir stayed in the same building as i did and i used to go to his wife for private tutoring in MAths. We took de best stones we could get and scratched his car while i looked around to know if we were being watched. The next day we got caught because the watchman saw me entering back home. I never agreed that we did it but finally had to due to some other incidents.

We became big heros in school and were given warm and sexxy treatment by our seniors. We even got a new name – THE CM’s i.e THE CAR MOLESTERS. loll…The whole school, including the staff, knew about it and we never gave a damn about what they thought abt us. This was a best thing that hppnd to me and my friend. We still dont regret wat we did and we still hate that sir. After that, we’ve always put our heads up high front of him and still do that.

And abt my friend, his name was Ebin. We’ve been pals now for de past 4yrs. We both are like brothers to each other. Whateva we do, we do it together. If we get caught for something, that’ll also be together. Just miss him soo much nw. We still do keep in contact every 2 weeks.
